<p>Canicross kit supplier and training company, DogFit, was Highly Commended in the hotly contested Supplier of the Year category which was presented by Paralympic champion and ukactive Chair, Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, and Olympian, Professor Greg Whyte.</p>
<p>This year’s awards recognised organisations’ demonstrating an exceptional response to Covid 19 and showing excellence in face of adversity. DogFit evidenced the impact of their work in promoting the sport of Canicross and helping get more people, more active, more often.</p>
<p>Canicross is the sport of hands-free trail running with your dog. It originated from the sledding community and has grown exponentially since DogFit were established in 2015.</p>
<p>DogFit’s mission from the beginning has been to make Canicross as inclusive as possible; people and dogs of all ages and ability can take part in this great way to get fit, with the option to Cani-trek (hands-free walk) if they prefer. As a result, DogFit have introduced thousands of people to Canicross.</p>

<p>DogFit manufacture and supply Canicross sports equipment which includes a special harness for the dog, a running belt for the human and a line used for attaching the dog to the human. They are also a CIMSPA Training Provider partner; the only Canicross company to be recognised as providing the highest standards of quality and service delivery in their sector. DogFit train sports professionals and dog trainers alike to teach Canicross and have certified Trainers based both in the UK and overseas.</p>
<p>Gail Walker, co-founder of DogFit said: “It is such an honour to receive this prestigious award from ukactive as recognition for all the work we have done over the past six years to introduce thousands of people and their dogs to the wonderful sport of Canicross.”</p>
